About Me

Hey, I’m Peter — an Egyptian interior designer, furniture designer, and international chess instructor. I’m passionate about creativity, human connection, and exploring how design and strategy shape the way we think and live.

I love meeting people from different cultures, hearing their stories, and sharing my own — whether it’s about art, travel, or the funny side of daily life. I’m calm, open-minded, and easy to get along with.

When I’m not working on design projects or teaching, you’ll probably find me sketching, drinking good coffee, or playing chess (and sometimes losing gracefully 😄).

Travel, for me, is about people — the shared laughs, the quiet moments, and the ideas that stay with you long after the trip ends.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I believe travel is about people, not just places.
I’m here to meet open-minded travelers, exchange stories, and learn how others see the world.

As a designer and chess instructor, I’m always curious about how people live, think, and create in different cultures. Couchsurfing feels like the best way to connect beyond small talk — to share ideas, laughter, and maybe a few chess moves along the way.

Music, Movies, and Books

🎵 Music
I enjoy a mix of Arabic and international music — Amr Diab, Hakim, and Sherine Abdelwahab always give me a sense of home, while Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, and Sia keep my playlists full of mood and emotion.

🎬 Movies
I love movies that make you think and feel at the same time — The Prestige, Her, Inception, and The Intouchables are some of my favorites.

📚 Books
I read a lot about design, psychology, and creativity. Some books that left a mark on me are The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fck*, The Alchemist, 11 Minutes, and The Blue Elephant. Each of them taught me something different about life, people, and passion.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once stood near Heidelberg Castle at sunset, watching the city glow beneath me while a street musician played in the distance.
It was one of those simple, unforgettable moments when time feels slower — and you realize how beautiful it is just to be alive, traveling, and present in the world.

Teach, Learn, Share

I’m an international chess instructor — I love teaching chess in a way that’s fun, deep, and connected to real life.
For me, chess isn’t just a game; it’s about patience, creativity, and learning how to see things from another perspective.

I can also share my experience as an interior designer — how design can shape emotions, spaces, and stories.

I’d love to learn about your culture, language, and your perspective on the world.
And I’m always open to sharing good talks, travel stories, and quiet moments over coffee or a chessboard. ♟️

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share good company, thoughtful conversations, and a genuine curiosity about people and places.
If you like chess, I can teach you a few creative strategies — or we can just play for fun. ♟️
I’m happy to cook a simple Egyptian breakfast, make great coffee, or share design and travel stories.
More than anything, I like creating small, real connections that turn into great memories.
