HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I hope to meet fellow travellers abroad and at home too. Unfortunately I can't host, but I'm ready to meet travellers to show them around in Győr or Budapest, or is there any eccentric interested in Csorna?

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

A few of my good friends couchsurf and host, I got the inspiration from them. I wish I had more couchsurfing experience, I can't travel as much as I would love to, sigh...But so far, so good!

Standing face to face with the snowcapped peaks of the Karakoram. Flying past Nanga Parbat in the cockpit of a vintage F-27
Sunset over Lake Van from the train ferry.
Riding Vangölü-express across Turkey. Crossing the Bosporus by an old boat anytime. Spotting the ancient harbour of Rome from a plane. Having a Swiss Guardsman saluting me in the Vatican. Flying in a glider.

Spotting deer, hare, pheasent, birds of prey, great egret from the window of my commuter train almost every day. :-)

I can teach you the art of time travel. Well, almost...

I collect old guidebooks(Baedekers from between 1890-1914) and use them on the road as practical guidebooks. It's amazing to find places unchanged after 100 years, but also to learn about sights which don't exist anymore. Every serious traveller with a love for history should try this once, it's the closest you'll ever get to time travel. :-)
