About Me

My name is Peter and I'm from Lexington, KY! I work in an auto factory here, but I'm a part-time traveler and a full-time adventurer. I recently started a travel blog (http://peterjviox.com) and if you ever meet me it will likely be on the road exploring your town! I love knowledge, learning about new cultures and history. I feel I'm able to get along with anybody. I love making new friends and I hope to meet you some day!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have the option to stay in hotels and hostels as I roam around, but that only adds to the isolation factor. I see couch surfing as an opportunity to make new friends and forge strong connections in cities and countries I visit. Sure, cool buildings and restaurants and natural wonders are part of the draw, but I've found the friends I make have helped create the most memorable experiences as I travel.

Interests

Like I said before, history and culture are infinitely interesting to me. I love to learn. I play around with amateur photography and videography as I travel. Music is a huge part of my life, I've played guitar for about 14 years now. I love outdoor experiences, hiking, camping. Sports (though I'm not the most athletic, I love them and love to play whenever I can), coming from Kentucky you know I rep the men's basketball Wildcats (haha, but I'm a nice fan, don't worry :P)

The force is also strong with me, haha, geek culture has also been a big part of my life since I was a kid. As an adult I still find enjoyment in things like anime and videogames. It's really no exaggeration to say I am interested in just about everything. This world is INFINITELY interesting and I am open to all of its experiences.

Music, Movies, and Books

All music, truly. Whether it's the hits on the radio, independent rock, hip hop, rap, classic rock, heavy metal (classics to extreme), bluegrass, jazz, anything that makes you move!

Books - I am drawn to history and travel books, I love learning, I'll read anything.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am all about facing fears, in fact I feel the most alive when I am standing just outside of my comfort zone. The first step for me was going sky diving. I loved it so much I went back the next day and did it again, haha! Other fears I've conquered were solo international travel, which to me is amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am always happy to share stories and learn about whatever everyone else has done. Like I said before, people are the true spice to life and I can't wait to connect with others as I travel, it's why I'm here.

What I Can Share with Hosts

At this point, I don't really know what I have to offer, but if a host has a request I'll happily oblige if possible. I am very thankful for the opportunity to stay with the host and make a new friend.

Countries I’ve Visited

England, Nepal
