About Me
ABOUT ME
I'm light-hearted and easy going, with a good sense of humour. I like to listen and talk to people a lot, and I find there's always something new someone can teach me, -whether it's new facts or stories, or a different perspective on something I thought I knew. I love traveling and find the best way to get to understand a people or culture is to talk to the locals and find the small things that they like to do, rather than the big monuments that everyone else sees. I've been traveling off and on for several years now, sometimes staying in one place for a while but always wanting to see what's beyond the horizon.
PHILOSOPHY
Live, Learn, Love!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I think the best way to discover what's really going in a place is to get in behind the scenes, go down the back streets and talk to people. I'd rather travel 100 kms on a bicycle in 1 week and stop a bunch of times than travel 1000 kms in 1 day watching the world fly past and actually seeing nothing. I've had so many great times while traveling from meeting strangers out of the blue and going on impromptu road trips, random bike tours or just chilling out swapping stories.
Interests
I love music and am always looking to hear new bands, styles and fusions of music. I try to play as many instruments as I can find, but it's hard to carry too many around when travelling. I love to cook and think one of the best ways to create and grow friendships is through sharing food, be it in the home, at a restaurant or just with stories. I have been vegetarian most of my life, and now vegan for the past six years. I love the creativity that I can express with my cooking and to always learn more styles and secrets, and to use the ingredients that are used (and grown) by the local community.

Music, Movies, and Books
I read a lot of stuff. Always up for a book swap, I usually travel with a few :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Cycling from Barcelona around the mediterranean sea and across the north of Italy, avoiding the big roads, and seeing the rural countryside up close. Finding ruined castles, making friends with fields of sunflowers, and trying to order a carafe of the local red wine from tiny bars on hilltops.
