About Me

CURRENT MISSION

We are now in extremely small accommodation in St Austell, Cornwall and presently unable to put anyone up - we don't even have a couch!

Maryna and I left the Ukraine in Sept. 2016 for Germany, where I had an attractive work contract. A year later, I was offered work in the UK and in view of Brexit, it seemed a good idea, especially as staying in Europe with my Ukranian wife might have been difficult after then... So here we are! The job, or rather my employer and landlord (will never do THAT again!), turned out to be a nightmare, so we have left Leicester and are now actively looking for work in the South West and somewhere to settle down at last and a bit fed up with employment- and real-estate- agents, so 'doing it for myself', like they say in the song! :)

ABOUT ME

Well, really about US, actually... I'm easy-going and not a rowdie. I enjoy life and am quiet - and at the same time enthusiastic about all sorts of things. Maryna is an artist and art teacher and is VERY inquisitive! I enjoy nature and children (I have 4 of those!) and 'collect' obsolete and dying crafts and skills. I can look after myself and can just as well 'integrate' as stay in the background. We can sleep anywhere and are not demanding in any way. We can help out around the place and both cook, too, if wanted! :) Peter and Maryna

PHILOSOPHY

Live and let live and help others to do the same, gracefully and happily!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have a dacha 85km South of Vinnytsya, which I am fitting out to live in. VERY basic at the moment, so not really fit for habitation as the winter approaches YET.

At the moment in a tiny flat in England with only a 1M wide bed for us both and no sofa, and so not able to offer anything at the moment, unfortunately.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Travelled all my life for various reasons, only just discovered couchsurfing... ONE very positive experience from my very first connection! More to come! :)

Interests

Natural therapies, human biology, massage, nutrition, meditation, cooking, art, music; making, restoring and repairing absolutely everything and anything, old bikes, old cars, old planes...pisanky, art, woodwork, metalwork, leatherwork... And languages, if course!

Music, Movies, and Books

Lots of books (mostly reference), lots of music styles and a few movies. I do like a broad range of music, but it has to have rhythm, melody and as appropriate, good lyrics: so lots of anything from jazz to pop, through hip-hop and country, but not just intellectual noise...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Married my wonderful Maryna

Teach, Learn, Share

All practical skills from woodwork to meditation and language, with all the cultural historical and geographical implications and nuances...

What I Can Share with Hosts

Haha, my sofa in the living-room, but not yet!

Countries I’ve Lived In

Australia, Djibouti, England, France, Germany, Lebanon
