About Me

I've been accused of being a hippy, but I suspect I'm too young to properly qualify (tail end of the Baby Boomers to date me!)
I'm pretty laid back, vaguely quirky, love things related to sustainable living, gardening and all things permaculture, cooking (mostly vegetarian diet) and swimming in "fresh water" during a hot, humid summer day.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've had loads of people come through my international student home here in Vancouver either doing Couchsurfing or warmshowers.org via housemates also belonging to these groups. I've enjoyed meeting and entertaining people from all over the world. Now I figure it's time to get involved directly. This a beautiful, out-of-the-box concept of acting locally and helping each other along.

Interests

Well, what more to say? I enjoy speaking Spanish and French, taking in a good folk show or open mike, playing socially interactive games such as charades and biking around town to shop at specialty grocery stores or to explore urban industrial "wastelands" or giving or receiving a shiatsu massage!

Music, Movies, and Books

Candide, A Fine Balance, Letters to a Young Poet are some books that come to mind; Sleuth as a psychological mystery movie; as for music, all sorts of international folk, fado, tango, jazz, blues, funk, hip hop ...just not "elevator" music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One? That's too cruel. Maybe a bike tour of the Gaspe peninsula or tree planting in the interior mountains of B.C. or, or... once got a humming bird out of a farm house by getting it to perch on my finger while it was still hovering with the energy of a small rocket.

Teach, Learn, Share

Appreciation of sustainable living, that small is beautiful be that related to architecture, gardening or whatever. Oh, ya, and group music "toning".

What I Can Share with Hosts

Mostly good food, stories, massage!

Countries I’ve Visited

France, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom
