ABOUT ME

My love of travel began with university holidays spent hitching around Europe, island hopping and Inter-railing, hammocks, backpacks, camping on beaches, hiking, climbing, missing trains, getting drunk in the sun.

I've lived several years in Edinburgh pursuing the noble sports of hill running, mountaineering and exploring Scotland on a push bike...a dangerously good way to travel.

Between November 2009 and November 2010 I cycled the length of South America. I passed through Chile, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Columbia and Venezuela and tackled many high passes and many thousands of miles on gravel tracks. Along the way I volunteered in ecological farming projects, climbed several high altitude Andean peaks and trekked in some of the most beautiful mountain landscapes.

Now I am living and working in Newcastle. I also run wild camping adventures, navigation courses and guided mountain walks as Exploring, Etc.
