About Me

Hi, I'm Peter from Budapest, Hungary. I love my city, this is where I grew up, and I'm not planning to move away. I live happily married with my wife, Viktoria (Viki for short): our surname means King, so welcome to our royal family (just joking, we are like full-grown kids).

I love exploring, adventures, street food, good viewpoints, nature, hidden places, playing board games, cooking with my wife, organizing parties in our home, and meeting people from all over the world. I don't like to follow the big crowd, I have my own opinions and way of thinking. I don't want to be a tourist, but a traveler.

I've just finished my BSc degree at Budapest University of Technology where I was studying Computer Engineering: I love science, technology, and the benefits it brings to humanity. I also work part-time at an insurance company as a software developer.

It's hard to speak about myself, but people tend to say I'm quite an always-cheerful, open-minded and easy-going guy, who enjoys good conversations and great laughs! I also enjoy doing all kinds of sports, from biking to running (training currently for the marathon), from hiking to skiing. I was playing the piano for 6 years, my favorite composer is Chopin.

HOSTING:
Please, don't send requests for months ahead, I won't know my schedule.
Last minute requests are welcome. I prefer to host for 1-3 nights.
If you're looking for a host, send a request, not a message.
Give yourself and your partners a proper introduction and say why you would like to meet me!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The world would be a much better place, if people stopped prejudicing other nations and cultures. Each person is unique and is to be loved, and should not be judged before meeting personally. With Couchsurfing, I want to meet people from all over the world, and get to know and understand other cultures, languages, religions.
I'm also interested in exploring our planet with this adventure!

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite books include Harry Potter, Quo vadis, 1984, Animal Farm, Crime and Punishment, and books by Agatha Christie.
Some of my favorite movies are Inception, The Prestige, Schindler's List, Back to the Future, Fight Club, Interstellar, The Machinist, and Breaking Bad series. I love listening to Ska music!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went on a bike tour from Budapest to Vienna (324 km), which I planned myself.
I climbed several mountains in Slovakia, High Tatras (e.g. Rysy 2503 m).
Host several amazing guests in my home with wonderful experiences.
I hiked Cinque Terre in Italy.
I proposed to my ex-girlfiend (now wife), and she said YES!
Our wedding: perfect, unforgettable.

Teach, Learn, Share

We love playing all kinds of board games: we'd like to share the joy of playing together with you.
One awesome hobby I do is juggling with 3, 4, and 5 balls: I can teach you (if you have the time and interest :).
I want to learn about you, your country, your culture, your religion, your way of thinking.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Indonesia, Italy, Malaysia, Philippines, Poland, Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, United Kingdom, Vatican City State, Viet Nam
