Overview
About Me
I'm a 21 year old Scot who loves an adventure! I've travelled all over the world and will jump at any chance to do something a little different.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
For me, couchsurfing is an exciting way to travel. Part of going to a new place is to meet the locals and what better way to do it than to live with them! It is an amazing resource to let people from all over the world who share the passion to travel and meet new people come together. I want to meet as many different people as I can through couchsurfing.
Interests
First and foremost: Football. I play it, referee it or watch it. Since moving to Beijing I've been playing 3-4 times a week and I'm absolutely loving it. This interest in football expands into a much broader general interest in sport. I can play a bit of bball and I'll watch anything.
I love chess! I play this every day online and if anyone out there fancies a game then that would be superb.
I'm trying to learn Chinese. Trying.
I've been involved helping people out with legal problems back home pro bono. It's great being able to put your education to use like this.

- chess
- traveling

Music, Movies, and Books
My favourite band at the moment is probably Alter Bridge. The last person I saw live was Slash back in Glasgow in November.
Other than that, U2, REM or the Police are probably what I listen to most.
Favourite film is Touching the Void. There's something about the human drive when faced with impossible situations that I find fascinating. Others recently that I've enjoyed are Warrior, Her and Ex Machina. I go to the cinema regularly back home with my Unlimited Cineworld card.
I don't have a favourite book. Just now I'm reading "Thinking, fast and slow." It's really great. I've gone through a period of reading non-fiction for about a year now. Economics, politics and stuff like that.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I went out to Guatemala to volunteer in a children's home for 3 weeks one summer. It was a real eye opener and a great experience. I've continued to raise money for the organisation on a couple of occassions. I really want to go back and visit Central/South America again. It is a really unique place in the world. Hopefully I can get back on top of learning Spanish and go out there again.
Teach, Learn, Share
I could teach chess I guess. Other than that I'm not sure. I'd love to share my interests and learn about yours.
