ABOUT ME

On previous trips, I noticed that I had the most fun spending time with others and just hanging out rather than being a tourist. Normal travel can be lonely and sterile sometimes, so I want something more personal, where I can meet people and share a laugh or two. I hope to be a good citizen of the world, share my experiences with the people I meet, and hopefully host them later when we become friends.

PHILOSOPHY

Just relax and enjoy the ride! I try to stay laid back and respectful and not step on anyone's toes. I also am a strong believer in community and doing what you can for others. We live in a world where everyone is always rushing around being busy, and it's even more important now than ever to stop and be a human being to others, even for just a few minutes.

I also believe in having a modern mindset and being open-minded, but holding on to a few old school values. For example, I don't own a TV, use a cheap disposable cellphone instead of a smartphone, still read the paper newspaper, and try to put friends and family before everything else.

I'm interested in meeting people wherever I travel, sharing a meal and some good conversation, and learning about their everyday lives. If you're ever in Seattle, look me up and I'd be happy to return the favor!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've lived in Asia before and hosted/stayed with friends, but this is my first formal CS experience. It's a pleasure to be here and I look forward to meeting you!

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy all music and would be happy to learn about some of your favorites, but I especially like jazz, blues, hip hop, funk, and soul

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A friend and his family took me on my first backpacking trip to the Olympic Mountains in Washington State, where we were lucky enough to have a 360 degree view of the sunrise and sunset. It was a humbling and very beautiful experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like learning how people from other countries cook at home, even if it's just a packet of ramen.
