About Me
Hi! 👋🏻
My name is Petra. I'm a passionate architect, currently living and working in Novi Sad, Serbia.
[for guests]
I don't host atm...
Also, please don’t send me random friend requests and hellos in inbox
[back to me]
From an early age, I started traveling and even moved from my hometown to enroll in the Serbian High School in Budapest. I lived in a dormitory for four years and made friends for life! During my studies in Serbia, I traveled a lot and met wonderful people from all around the world. I’ve been on the Work and Travel program in the USA twice, spent a semester on Erasmus exchange in Poznań, Poland, and did an Erasmus internship in Vienna. Along the way, I also traveled through different parts of Europe. Basically, I’ve had the chance to work, study, live, and travel abroad — and meet amazing people who I’m still in touch with.
That's why I'm on Couchsurfing!
I am always open for new friendships, travels and life experiences!
World is a beautiful place to be explored 🌍
Fortune favours the brave 🍀
That said, I’ll admit that sometimes I feel like I’m still learning to be brave. I can fear failure or rejection, but I know risks are a part of life, and I try to push myself forward. I believe the future, life experience, and probably this app too, will help me grow.
On the other hand, I wouldn’t say I’m an introvert. Actually, quite the opposite!I love being active, spending time with people, and trying new things. Of course, everybody needs some time alone from time to time, so do I :)
I've always lived in cities and considered myself an "urban girl", loving faster paced lifestyle, though I think this changes as you grow older. Every now and then, I do think of living in a countryside and how differently that might shape me.
But for not, I'd still rather walk through busy streets, blinded by skyscrapers and city lights. After all, I’m still an architect with a master’s degree in urbanism ;)
Above all, I’m most grateful for my beautiful childhood, my amazing parents, and my younger sister - without them I wouldn’t be what I am today 🫶🏻
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Basically, after finishing master's degree, I immediately got a job in my profession - which has both pros and cons. My studies were very dynamic: I used to travel a lot, joining different programs where I met lots of students from different countries. I love sharing experiences, speaking English, learning about new cultures and traveling. But now that I'm employed, I don't have as much time or as many opportunities like that. The routine has kind of “eaten me up,” and I hope that will change soon 🤞🏻
That's why I wanted to try this app! Hopefully, I will continue making friends abroad just like I did before ☀️
Not everybody has to be strangers :)
Every time I travel somewhere on my own, people tend to ask me if I am afraid or if I feel lonely. But honestly, it only makes the trip more exciting, because that's when you meet the most people - and I think that is the best part! What really matters are the friendships you make along the way.
Interests
I love drawing — that’s actually what inspired me to study architecture 🏛️. I’ve always admired art and consider myself more of a visual person. Architecture fascinates me because it combines art and engineering, and I really love that mix.
In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with friends. At home, you’ll usually find me doing digital illustrations on my PC, watching movies, or reading books. I also like going out and listening to good music.
Recently, I passed the exam to become an international table tennis umpire 🏓. I used to play table tennis when I was younger, but now I’ve switched to something related where I can also earn a bit.
And of course, I absolutely love animals! My second dream was to become a vet. Back in my hometown, where my parents still live, I have a cat and a dog — my two cutest furry babies 🐾

Teach, Learn, Share
I'm always open for learning about other cultures, languages, backgrounds and sharing perspectives.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm very neat and since I've lived in a few dormitories, I'm also quite adaptable.
Surely, I can offer good company and positive energy - I enjoy deep conversations about different life topics and my friends say I'm kinda funny and approachable :)
I have to say, I’m not a huge foodie and I don't enjoy food the way most people do 😅 Nevertheless, I’m not picky at all and I appreciate trying new dishes. I’m always down for cooking together.
Over the years, I've learned to be resourceful and independent, therefore you don't really need to worry much about me.
