ABOUT ME

I usually travel with my boyfriend Pentti and our daughter Pepiina. We are both working at a hotel receptiom in Helsinki. We are outgoing and friendly people and we love to travel, speak different languages and see other cultures. I come from Helsinki and Pentti is from Kuopio.

PHILOSOPHY

"Hiljaa hyvä tulee" It's an expression in Finnish and it means that it's gonna be good if you do it peacefully or with no rush.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I was going on a holiday around the USA alone so I thought that couch surfing would be a perfect way to meet people. And I didn't have to spend a fortune on hotels. That is why I created my profile but my motives have not changes much. I have my boyfriend with me but we prefer exploring new towns with the help of locals and maybe make life long friendships.

Interests

We like to travel, watch movies at home and at the cinemas, listen to music, go out with our friends, get to know new people and also just chill at home. When we travel we try to avoid the most touristic places. Instead we want to find the places that locals prefer and see the country from their point of view.

Music, Movies, and Books

Petra: Titanic and The Lion King. They are the two movies that made me cry and I could watch them over and over again. When I play the flute I mostly play classical music but I like to listen to the mainstream music, though I can listen to almost any kind of music. As for books, I have mostly read fantasy books such as The Harry Potters and at the moment I'm reading The Hobbit. I always have some book that I've started thought I rarely read anymore.
Pentti: My taste in music is very wide but mostly Rock is my favorite. I love to watch movies and some of the best ones I've seen are Tarantino's movies and the ones that everybody likes. I don't read much unless I'm on a holiday and just lying on a beach.

Petra: I've lived in 5 countries since I moved out from my childhood home and I'm only 24!

Teach, Learn, Share

Something about my country: Santa Claus lives in Finland. Nokia is Finnish. New York City has more inhabitants than the whole Finland. Sauna is from Finland. We get a lot of snow in the winter but yet our summers are quite warm (for us anyway).
