About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Being slightly less chaotic would be a good start
ABOUT ME
To start with, I'm in love with everything that has to do with culture. Books, films, music, theatre, art, dance - I cannot get enough of it. Doesn't mean I'm not interested in anything else, I'm only extremely bad at anything that involves numbers including remembering telephone numbers and things like that, but I think it's really cool when people do physics or mathematics and actually understand what they are doing. I wish I could!
At the moment I'm a MA student in Journalism and I'm really enjoying it!
I also love tennis. I'm not so good at it, but I primarily really enjoy watching it... Overall I'm not really into sports, most of the time it limits itself to cycling everywhere (I'm Dutch after all) and here that does not count as a sport but merely as a way of transportation but I guess that after all it is a sport, right?
PHILOSOPHY
"I've got nothing to do today but smile!" brought by Simon & Garfunkel is a good philosophy to work from. Of course it's not like I don't have anything else to do, but sometimes it's nice to pretend that it's like that.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies - There are a lot of movies that I really enjoy. My one and only favourite film is 'Once' (Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglova), but the list of films that I loved is never ending, including Le Scaphandre et le Papillon, Le Hérisson, Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind, The Girl with the Pearl Earring, Tous les Soleils, Keane, (500) Days of Summer, A Beautiful Mind, Departures, The Science of Sleep, The Mill and the Cross, A Clockwork Orange, The Shining, Requiem for a Dream, Des Hommes et des Dieux and so on. Basically it's really diverse and very long.
Music: Nick Drake made the most beautiful music out there. To be very short, I absolutely love folk music, but if I would write down the long version of my musical preferences I would take too much time.
Books: I love all kinds of books and I don't think that I have one favourite work. Examples of books I really love are Ovid's Metamorphoses, Pasternak's Dr. Zhivago, Kundera's The Unbearable Lightness of Being, Salinger's The Catcher in the Rye and Everything is Illuminated by Safran Foer, but there are many more. I like reading books that other people recommend and talk about it afterwards. It is especially interesting when opinions differ; one of my friends is the biggest Jane Austen fan out there and convinced me to read something by her, but I had to force myself to finish Pride & Prejudice...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My most amazing experience was working with Hungarian gypsy children, it was such a great time and those kids really inspired me.
