About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Adventures are to be had, not to be dreamt about.

ABOUT ME

Hey peeps!

This is not updated at all, ha. Just wanted to say I'm in Australia right now, so all you guys going to Sthlm I'm absolutely no use to you. If anyone's up to mischief is Perth however, do tell!

I'm a pretty happy soul in general, I do like travelling a lot, the last couple of summers I've been travelling in Eastern Europe and before I went back to Uni I spent six months in Asia. I've been working as a waitress in order to finance my studies, which is a nice contrast to sitting alone home with the books, I'm a social person that likes to meet new people and hear other people's stories.

PHILOSOPHY

I think that you shouldn't save your dreams until you retire, do it as soon as possible. And don't listen to other people when they tell you it's impossible, people talk a lot about things they don't know anything about.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've just finished my bachelors in sociology and I'm out travelling as a reward to myself. I'm new to this couchsurfing thing, but not to travelling. I have to admit I was sceptical to the whole thing a first but I have friends who are really into it, like my friend Christina. We met up this summer in Portugal when she was couchsurfing so she introduced me to how it worked because me and my friends tagged along and it was really nice, so now I'm convinced to give it a go :) I'm used to have friends I've met along my travels to stay with me, and I've stayed in more hostels than I can count. It's not quite the same thing but I think the mentality of couchsurfing goes hand in hand with the mentality of backpacking, it's all about meeting people, experience new things and have an open mind?

Interests

In the winter I like to snowboard, and in summer if I'm in a country where it's possible I like to snorkel and dive. I've just spent a week in southern France, doing a catamaran sailing course with UCPA. I do speak mediocre French, obviously English and Swedish as my mother tongue. I can get by with German if no other choice is given but what I really need is to learn Portuguese and Spanish!!

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm really lazy when it comes to music so I mostly listen to stuff other people give me or recommend. I like books that tells stories about people and they're way of thinking, i'm not very big on crime novels (unless they're really good). Lately I've read a lot of Swedish authors which probably not a lot of people know about. Except Stieg Larsson i suppose, it's become number 3 in the order of things people tell you when you're Swedish: aaah Sweden: IKEA, ABBA and Stieg Larsson? There's a liiiiittle bit more to Sweden than that...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It always amazes me when locals take you in and help you just for the sake of being a fellow human. I do try to help other's when I can, to contribute to the system.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm not sure I've got much practical skills to teach to people, but I am keen on learning new stuff! I find challeging myself to do new things rewarding. I guess I could teach English? And Swedish... As for sharing I have some stories worth telling :)
