About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Improve my Spanish, learn more about Mexico, my new home, by travelling extensively in the country and reading up on Mexican hisory, contemporary politics and Mexico´s social and economic developments. Reading more Cuban and Mex. literature..

ABOUT ME

Since 2006 I have lived in the beautiful city of Merida on the Yucatan penincsular in Meexico with my wife who is Cuban. We are especially interested in meeting Cubans who live in Merida, Cancun, Playa del Carmen or near Cuernavaca in the state of Morelos.

PHILOSOPHY

Need to think about this. But a few of my favourite aphorisms will give you the flavour of what my personal philosophy is.
Variety is the spice of life. Try anything (well, almost anything) once. Never take no for an answer. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Be true to yourself.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

New to CouchSurfing but I have been a member of Servas for many years, another travellers' organisation which enables people to stay with each other and develop international friendships. I have also swapped my house in Oxford, England and my car a few times during holiday periods with Servas members abroad. This has always worked out extremely well.

Interests

Many and varied interests.Interests include: travelling, reading, listening to music (mainly classical music, jazz, and world music), going to art exhibitions, socialising with my 4 children, friends and my extended family.
