ABOUT ME

We are pretty normal folks trying to live a wholesome, satisfying existence without hurting the planet too much. We love nature, good food, good people, good music, good movies, and excellent conversation. We grow a lot of our own food, cook a great deal (we have a huge kitchen) and eat locally produced food for the most part, and appreciate all this world has to offer.

PHILOSOPHY

Treat others the way you would like to be treated.
Always be hospitable and kind.
People aren't usually trying to be mean, when they are, there is probably a reason I am unaware of.
Stay calm, be brave, and wait for the signs.
Notice the little things.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Warren and Molly have been married for a very long time. Our children are mostly grown, and unlike us, have traveled extensively. Now that they are older WE can finally travel. Since all three are in college, we cannot easily afford hotel accommodations, AND we have a large house with an extra bedroom to share. In the past we have often stayed at hostels because they are a great way to meet people. Sometimes they seem rather dirty and not as hospitable, so CS seemed like a good thing to try! Hope to make amazing new friends all over the world.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have had many, many friends stay in our home. We love to entertain. We are relaxed easy going people with a large group of friends.

We did a homestay in Jaco, Costa Rica while attending Surfing and Spanish Language Immersion School. It was fabulous.

Interests

We love life: children, animals, nature, science, the outdoors, art, music, food, film, culture, games, travel, yoga, saving the planet. Molly is a tea addict. Warren loves a strong cup of coffee with lots of cream. We eat almost anything, except pork and stinky cheeses.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

While hiking in Yosemite, we decided to take a "short cut" down from Cloud's Rest to our hidden, secret camping place in Tenaya Canyon, we nearly got killed due to the steepness of the terrain. Fortunately things always seem to turn out for the best for us and we obviously lived to walk another day. We learned a to have a healthy respect for the wilderness.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can cook anything-- if you want to learn to bake a pie or make most excellent fresh Mexican salsa, we'll do it. Warren is a woodworker and builder and general build it, fix it, creative kinda guy. He has been through river guide school and knows how to man a boat in a crazy rapid. He is like an encyclopedia of useless knowledge and really fun to talk to. Molly specializes in developmental disabilities, the effects and treatment of early trauma on children, anything that gets in the way of a child being successful at learning and managing in the world.
