About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Get a PhD and some memories along the way

ABOUT ME

I'm a walking contradiction. I'm both shy and outgoing. Chill and impassioned. A speaker and listener, teacher and learner. I'm a marketing professor (at Ohio State) yet I feel that marketing is one of he most destructive forces in our society.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that the greatest art form is a life well lived. To live artistically is not to maximize comfort,it's to maximize experience. Each person, emotion, experience, memory is a brush stroke.

Music, Movies, and Books

Funk and philosophy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There are some great stories in my past, train-jumping and poetry slam and that sort of thing, but transitioning from ski bum to phd student was perhaps the hardest and most instrumental experience of my life. It's very difficult to go from playing full-time to learning full-time, but I'm glad I did it.

Teach, Learn, Share

Growth is the only form of happiness that does not exhibit diminishing returns. The more you grow the better it feels. We grow best through experiences. Therefore one source of sustained happiness is to a) decide a lesson you would like to learn, b) design a behavior to reinforce that lesson, and c) perform that behavior.
