ABOUT ME

If my friends were trying to be nice about me - an unlikely thing for them to do if they're Scottish - they might say things like:
Irrational love of free things (it makes me enjoy something about twice as much if I acquired it for free).
A combination of his Mum and Dad (my Dad is one of the oddest people I know - he lives on Koh Phangan island in Thailand and operates in a semi-legal sphere with an interesting morality - while my Mum lives in the same house she has since I was born and is sensible and lovely).
Loves organising things to include as many friends as possible.
Should have been on this website years ago.

Neo-utilitarian I suppose. Maybe something a bit like Singer and Rawls cobbled together. Most importantly, don't be a dick!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

You can stay with me and my housemates in Hackney, London. I love showing people round too as it gives me a good reason to revisit places I like (you don't have to be staying with me to ask me to show you round). If you are looking for someone to go to very touristy things like Princess Diana's house or Madame Tussauds then I am not the man for you.

Intereses

Music, dancing, exploring, cycling, cooking, politics, staying up all night, sleeping late, philosophy, talking nonsense, free stuff!, bartering, bumping into people I know, making connections, finding out about subversive characters from history (Blake, Byron, Hawksmoor, Rousseau, Burroughs...), making people laugh - especially myself, podcasts, girls, home haircuts, galleries, ancient history, architecture, etc etc.
Experiencing things I never have, even if I don't think I'll like them.

Música, películas y libros

My music taste is pretty eclectic and probably ranges from nursery rhymes to techno and anything in between. Am especially interested in music you can dance to I suppose, see Optimo, Comeme, Beats in Space, Bobby Orlando, Kompakt, Ivan Smagghe, European synthpop, Andy Weatherall, The Loft, Berghain, Joakim, Daphni, and on and on. I especially like any music from before its time; Silver Apples, Black Devil Disco Club, Crash Course in Science, Throbbing Gristle, Charanjit Singh...
Don't really watch many movies these days and seem to indulge in books in a feast or famine style.

I used to be a philosophy tutor. I could also teach you a bit about things like driving, DJing, cooking (veggie), UK politics, music history (selected), Scottish, European or Thai culture.
