About Me
ig: yagamiphil
Self employed digital nomad, former English teacher (Translate: jobless unrealistic dreamer living on the edge.) Been to 18 countries and counting. Learned things the hard way, still learning to go to the right way. Photography hobbyist, trigger happy. I'm a bicycle lover, trying to save both my money and the use of fossil fuels. I will do cross border bicycle tours someday, and thereafter become the bike itself and never separate. I grew up with cats, made me a dog eater instead of cats. Just kidding, we'll be friends if you are someone always skeptical at what you read or hear. I adamantly believe in the value of honesty, speaking your mind, sharing your actual human sides, open up, but more than that, to have even more, if not equal, interest in hearing what people have to say about their views and lives. Fluent English (English major) and of course my mother tongue Chinese. I have Vietnamese heritage, not sure if genetically but surely in taste of their food. I'm not a vegan but i've learnt to forgo beef and tuna completely from my diet for environmental reasons. Wouldn't die not eating these anyway.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To investigate that we must meet in person and delve deep into the subconscious and experience an infinitely looped layers of mental constructs, the primary manifestation of which consisits of rabbits swimming in aquariums and skies rainning potatoes.

Music, Movies, and Books
Ambience, lowfihiphop, Radiohead, Coldplay, Mogwai, Hans Zimmer, Chopin. i like bass rich songs as everyone does but i often just bask myself in actual music that don't neccessaily participate in the hype of pumping out beats. Orchestra with a highlight in string instruments and piano. Sci fi movie OSTs are my goto formula for escaping the world.
Fav movies that come to my mind rn: Oblivion, Sunshine, Her, Basketball Diaries, Romeo and Juliet Starring Leonardo, Guardians of the Galaxies, Elysium, Ironman series, Matrix trilogy, Inception, In Time, Looper, 12 Monkeys, i am legend etc. i like post apocalyptic movies with a brush of the vulnerability and sentiments of being human not just explosions.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I did a motorbike trip throughout vietnam.
I quit my old career to start a new one at age 26.
I survived all the things that set me back.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can share the Cantonese style cooking i learnt from my mother, and I'm registered as an English Teacher in Hong Kong, it's been my primary language so if you're looking to speak English with someone i'll happily be that someone. Handful of stories and experience throughout my travels to talk about and i'll be delighted to hear the cultures and values of others and borrow their insights.
