About Me

After living in the small but beautiful students' city Marburg, I recently returned to my hometown Bonn to start my job as an English, German and History teaching trainee.
Being a beginner, my current job is rather time consuming and exhausting. That's why I am always happy to spend time exploring the world during school holidays.

Besides that I am a passionate music fan as well as an admirer of the electric guitar, even though my instrument is the trumpet. I played and sang in several bands (BigBands, small combos, rock bands) and I am always in for a decent jamming. Vinyl records make me weak, so whenever there is a record shop in a town I am travelling to I have to go there.

I'd call myself sociable, open-minded, humble and reliable.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As mentioned above, I'm a new couchsurfer so I am looking forward to meeting nice people and getting to know places I travel to beyond the beaten paths. While travelling, I stayed at other people's houses before and I've learned so many things - especially interesting insights in local cuisines.

However, I never became part of the couchsurfing community. Now I really want to catch up. Perhaps it's not that easy to start when you have no references - but I'll try it anyways :-)

But it's not only taking. I'd love to give something back: Since my girlfriend and I moved into a new flat with a little bit more space, we now want to offer travellers the opportunity to stay at our place, helping you to get to know Germany's most charming region: the Rhineland.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Jazz, Blues, Funk, Rock and Roll
(I would probably pay any prize to witness Led Zeppelin reunited in concert. Unfortunately that's unlikely to happen, damn!)

Books: Having studied literature, I love to read. Currently there's James Baldwin's "If Beale Street Could Talk" and Jack Kerouac's "On the Road" on my bedside cabinet.

Movies: "Almost Famous" is my all-time favorite.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Living abroad for a year in Cambodia some time ago. I know it sounds a bit stale but that really widened my horizon and it helped me to put many things in perspective. I am proud to say that I still have many friends there.
