Since May 21, 2012 he is serving as President and CEO and director of Xura (NASDAQ:MESG), the world’s leading provider of software and systems for billing and active customer management and value-added services. Xura is present in 124 countires.

From 2007 to 2011, he served as CEO, President and Director of Hypercom Corporation (NYSE:HYC) a $500M company with sales in 135 countries. Hypercom provides secure payment solutions. From 1998 to 2007, Mr. Tartavull served as President and CEO of Oberthur Card Systems North America. Oberthur targets the payment, mobile communications, and identification markets.

Prior to joining Oberthur, Mr. Tartavull served as President and CEO of Thales/Syseca, Inc., a provider of mission-critical systems for the transportation and utilities industries. Mr. Tartavull had previous managerial positions with Compagnie Internationale des services Informatiques (CISI) and Baker International.

Mr Tartavull has served on various public and private boards. He served as Chairman of the board,and Chairman of the compensation committee at MRV Communications, Director at Hypercom (2006), Director at Wilcox Inc ($150M GPS and Telecommunication company), Thomson Enterprise Network (ATM communications), and Sextant Inc.

Mr. Tartavull earned a Masters in Business Administration from the Institut d’Administration des Enterprises, Sorbonne University, a Masters of Science in Engineering from Ecole Nationale Superieure des Pétroles et des Moteurs, and a bachelor of science in Engineering from the Centre d’Etudes Supérieures des Techniques Industrielles, all in Paris, France. He is also a graduate of the Executive Program at the University of California at Los Angeles’ Anderson School of Management.
