ABOUT ME

He llo !

Theres a LOT to say about any given person, so I will simply mention the key factors that led the creation of my CouchSurfing account. I hope you are okay with that :)

Raised in a suburban community in Southern NJ, my life had not opened up vastly until I left town to attend Rutgers University, my first experience living outside of my hometown (beyond temporary Scouting trips, vacations, etc.) Here, I was drawn to Psychology, through which I met a professor and mentor figure who would change my life by directing me towards meditative techniques. How so fortunate was I to find out that a local Zen Sangha met regularly on my campus! For the next two years, this became a home to me, through hundreds of hours of meditation.

As of last May, Im proud to say I have graduated from Rutgers! I received a degree in Psychology and, for the first time, I no longer live by the school year. Life continuously has been opening itself to me, as I find myself yearning to explore more territories with an always glowing passion for creativity, discovery, and connectivity.

Fast forward to the recent hurricane that hit New Jersey. To witness such an unprecedented event really shook up what I thought was my basic understanding and outline in life. Again, I was put in a position where my faith in the universe was being tested, and this time I would not budge. So, I let go. Allowing the winds carry me, I've embarked on what I've so far labeled as a "spiritual quest," to see where Life was meant to take me. Currently in Florida as I update my description, its been a miracle of a journey so far, and can tell ya more in person ;)

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At the moment, Im traveling without much money and benefit most from being hosted. For me, this one-way generosity is not sustainable on its own, so I pay particular attention to giving back my share to the world. I love helping out with my hosts (and nonhosts) in any way possible, whether it be cooking, cleaning, or simply opening an empathetic ear to their life! Every bit helps.

Depends on the moment. I am careful not to dismiss certain genres of arts based on past experience, and instead seek the commonalities within the full spectrum.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

My first Zen Sesshin (this word means "to unify the mind"). These are 5 to 7 day silent meditation retreats where we meditate for 8-9 hours a day! Since then I've been on 8 more.
