About Me

I'm 28 years old,and my life's motto (fairly new) is 'life's to short to be normal!'

I feel like up until the past couple of years I've been living some pre conceived idea of what my life should look like and how it should all go.

Im done with that, and I want to start playing outside the sandbox... I've got mountains I want to climb, oceans to sail and beers to be drunk with complete strangers.

Work (when I find employment again) will not dictate who I am.. it is purely a means to bigger and greater things outside my 9 to 5.

i love adventures, travelling, and meeting like minded folk.

My partner (Katrina, KP, Kpalm, K-diggity) well shes pretty great herself. Motivated, inspiring, not afraid to get her hands dirty and 'roll the dice' with me on life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Hoping to meet a few people and share some experiences. I get kicks out of learning about how others manage to spend there time on planet earth. It simply is fascinating how much diversity there is out there.

I also am a passionate believer in helping people out as I know travelling can be taxing at times. Both financially and mentally. Its definately worth it in the long run though.

I also understand the perils and difficulties with being on the road for exteneded periods of time, living full time out of van and going days with out showering or basic amenties.

When I am home, I am hoping I can share my couch, shower, beers with others and give them a bit of a break from the road. Mi Casa Su Casa (i don't know spanish... but I think you get the jist)

Interests

I have a plethora of interests. See below:

Sports of all kinds. Hiking, ocean swimming, triathlons, Bball, rugby.. tennis, squash. All of the sports. There's not many I haven't played. With the exception of Lacross. Some one please invite me to a lacrosse throw-down. It would make my day.

I enjoy having a quiet beer and sharing conversation about travel experiences, politics, sport, music... and all things funny.

Music, Movies, and Books

We can discuss this whilst having that beer mentioned above.

*Can't give away all my trade secrets. It defeats the purpose of couch surfing by listing every novel I've enjoyed, every movie that's tickled by fancy...or every song I've ever got naked to and danced around the living room to.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Quitting my job was pretty amazing. A stable 9-5 that would have been easy to stick with. Upping and leaving my life in Western Australia where I had worked and played for the past 5 years was a very liberating experience.

Otherwise:

I lived in Sweden for a year (amazing). 'Mushed' huskies all the way out in to the ice tundra to watch the Northern Lights.

Been married to a girl from the Czech Republic for a week...... Whoops!

Finally, I recently signed up to sail around the world in the 2019 Clipper Adventure race. Google it if you haven't hear about it. A 12 month round the world yacht race... (i'll only be able to afford to do part of it regrettably, but If can conquer the Pacific Ocean I'll be a happy man!)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Stories, a free beer or ten. Hopefully a few laughs.

I (We) are very engaging, we can provide great company and will never say no to a new experience (with the exeption of crack .....)

We are happy to cook our hosts a meal or two and help around the house, and if required we can teach you how to count to ten in Swedish.
