About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To make people's lives better even if in small doses.

ABOUT ME

I'm an easy-going person who's in love with the world and the good people in it. I love sitting down and talking about life and the universe, hearing what others think about things and how they feel about them. I'm the kind of person who'll go to a party and won't stop dancing until the DJ stops playing music, apart for the occasional break to catch some breath and chat. For me, everything's fine and everything goes as long as people's energy and intentions are good. I'm open-minded, and I know a conversation is made of both speaking and listening. I appreciate differences, and I feel right at home with people that respect diversity of thought and sexuality.

I studied abroad for a year in Illinois, in the US, made friends from all over the world, traveled around to meet them again, and I don't plan on stopping any of this any time soon!

Other than that, I'm a Computer Scientist currently looking for that first job, but apart for a penchant for Nintendo videogames, I'm not a nerd, I promise.

PHILOSOPHY

Respect differences. Listen to what people have to say. Be open-minded. Be good and honest without expecting things in return.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I stayed at couchsurfer Matt Fryatt's place once for New Year's Eve when I was in Lyon with a friend who had stayed with him before. They threw a Casino/Mafia themed party for international people and before I knew it his apartment was filled with people talking in more different languages than my drunk self could discern. I wish I'd remember more things about it, but I do remember I had lots of fun. haha Anyway... During the other days I stayed there we'd make omelettes, go climbing, play videogames, walk around the city, and talk about everything and nothing. That's my idea of the couchsurfing spirit at its best!

Interests

I'm passionate about art, music, dance, movies, technology, and anything creative. I love to play the guitar and sing, and I'm a ballet dancer... or kind of. I'll do whatever and go wherever as long as my friends are coming along and there's even the remote chance of fun to be had. I love parties, bars, outdoor activities, the beach, you name it.

Music, Movies, and Books

I`m a former metal-head, but I remain in love with Kamelot. If you visit my profile on last.fm nowadays, though, you'll probably catch me listening to pop, samba, forró, rock, indie rock/pop, and so on.

As to movies, I'm mostly into psychological thrillers, sci-fi, and drama, but really anything that makes you think.

As to books, I'm a huge Harry Potter addict. Apart from J. K. Rowling, my favorite authors are Stephen King, Jonathan Safran Foer, Tolkien, Milan Kundera and Lygia Fagundes Telles.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Why not three?

- Jumping off a taller-than-I-dare-to-look-up cliff in Michigan onto Lake Superior, one of the Great Lakes, while being cheered up by random people from around the other side of the trail.

- Watching this huge meteor cross the beautifully starred sky of Chapada dos Guimarães (Mato Grosso, Brazil) with people I love (and unconsciously shouting the same word as all of them at the sight of it: "CARALHO!" -- look it up in your nearest Portuguese Cursing 101 book!)

- Sitting right in front of the main aquarium at the Oceanarium in Lisbon, having nothing but the blue water filling my sight, and watching the fish swim around while listening to Sigur Rós' Varúð on my headphones.
