About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Enjoying the Australian experience
ABOUT ME
I really enjoy sipping (or guzzling) a glass of hearty red after a round of golf with friends. I'm also a bit partial to beers and barbecue on a balcony. I have also discover a fondess for cider which will never leave.
I am quite reserved. I generally take my time in social company. I try to listen as best I can. I can be a bit concientious, but don't mind having a bit of a laugh (usually at my own expense).
PHILOSOPHY
Be realistic and avoid pretention.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Hosted world champion George Brown of cycling and brandy fame back in Jan 2008.
Was put up by many fantastic couch hosts on trip in Europe 2007.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Have managed a fair share of dossing with friends and family over the years.
Interests
Critics would argue that I spend far too much time starting new things and never getting really good at anything. This hasn't stopped me from enjoying being mediocre at various sports, including golf, cricket, mountain biking, skiing, white-water canoeing and football.
My averageness extends to cultural pursuits. An occasional reader of historical fiction, everynow and again get to a music gig and can count the number of theatrical performances I have seen on fingers and toes.
The only saving grace is that I am completely rubbish with anything mechanical and really good at eating sweets.

Music, Movies, and Books
Enjoy soul and folk-rock music in general. Blue-grass is another fave. Since being in Manchester I have started to appreciate a bit of the punk influence in modern music.
Recently I have been reading anything by Wilbur Smith but now reading Winter in Madrid. Just saw Diehard 4.0 the other day- definitely better than Spiderman 3 ( the only other film I have seen this year).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Gippsland Bushfires Jan 2007. Imagine playing cricket and having blackened leaves fall all around you, a massive smoke plume in the background and then spending the next two weeks unable to return home!
Teach, Learn, Share
More than happy to share the noble game of cricket (yes it can be cool to stand in a field for hours!)with the world.
