ABOUT ME

I was born and grown up in Toulouse, France. That's were I live at the moment... But I like to travel, learn languages, taste new food, and the best way for it is to settle down somewhere for a bit (or CS:)

I've studied ethnology. I used to work and live in Hanoi, Vietnam, on a crafts and local culture preservation project.

Now I work free lance in France, in the same field. In short words, I dedicate to helping people to know better the place they live in, its living heritage, its culture, its know-how, through organizing events, exhibitions, etc.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm fully confident in the future. I swear it helps! And whatever helps me to feel better.
I don't pretend I'm right on anything, because I still have a lot to learn (about life and about myself)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I love the CS concept. I don't know a better way to get to know a place, because you feel you are living there. It doesn't mean be shown around all the time, but do things day by day like you would do if I were home (like go out and buy bread, if you see my (french) point)
So yes, as an host I like to make my guests feel at home.

兴趣

Music, books, food. Talking, reasonably. Share a beer and talk about the passing time.

Did I mention food? 50 % of the excitement when I travel is local cuisine and life. Do what people do, eat what their grandma used to cook, and of course, take it chilly, because it's holidays!

I also like to learn the local language, adds up a lot of fun to the experience.

As a result, I try to cook for my hosts, and show them around if they wish so. For me it's also a way to step out of the routine and see what's on in the city.

音乐、电影和书籍

Music : Jazz is my cup of tea. I confess a bizarre attraction for Sun Ra and the Residents. I like modern brazilian music, such as Caetano or Gilberto Gil. And yes, I'm a Tom Waits fan.
That said, I'm always trying to get new music, specially local. So I'll make your MP3s mine!

Movies : I like Japanese cinema, dark american cinema from the 70's (Coppola, Altman...), Tarkovsky, and Miyasaki.

Books : R.Brautigan - all these authors that give life to little thingies, and whatever people tell me about.

Cooking. Playing the guitar : I'm a beginner willing to improve (oh...! I wrote that two years ago and yet haven't updated it, it's a bad sign...)

And you can also teach me how to sing, paint original Picasso's, speak alien languages, craft very tiny things with the teeth, build large ships, see amazing surnaturals events that actually doesn't exist, etc. I'm curious!
