About Me

ABOUT ME

I really like trying new things and going to new places. I graduated in piano performance in Trieste (Italy) and then embarked on an MSc degree in international politics at SOAS university of London, which was quite a big leap from music, but I needed to do it because of my commitment to human rights issues and international cooperation in the global south. I worked in international cooperation projects in Africa and the Middle East, now I'm temporarily at home (Pordenone) waiting to leave for another project somewhere.

I like to delve into a lot of things, I read a lot, write and play piano and guitar, I really like movies and pretty much all kinds of music that are worth being listened to. I'm not quite sure whether I'll stay in Milan or work abroad in the future, but for the moment I'm just enjoying my time here allowing myself small vacations from time to time.

Covid-vaccinated too so don't worry about that :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't had the possibility to host people as I move quite often. I've been hosted quite a few times and it's always been great.

Interests

Music, reading, writing, travelling, politics, current affairs, journalism. Not much of a sporty person.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: everything, starting from classical music through jazz and blues and english rock, through the 60's (pink floyd's my favorite band), all the way to the present (I like a lot of hip hop, electronic, ambient, trip hop music from this and the last decades). Basically, I like all the classics and all the strangest music you can find.
Reading: I think what's most important is to get a good background about the classics. I love russian literature (Dostoevskij in primis) then I enjoy as well the germans (Kafka and Thomas Mann). Generally I read everything that catches my attention.
Movies: classics as well, then yeah whatever's worth watching. Particularly De Sica, Kubrick, Antonioni, Sorrentino, just to name some.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I worked in Kinshasa (DRC) for a year and had to come back because of the first Covid outburst. There I was managing a project against malnutrition in a paediatric hospital. When I was 21 I travelled by car (and not a simple car, a really fucked up Panda 750 which was probably older than me) from Belgrade to Sarajevo, during the night, with three almost complete strangers - who I kinda randomly met a couple days before - on the bumpy Bosnian roads. When I was 19 I also took a bus from Berlin to Moscow through Poland, Lithuania and Latvia to go visit my ex girlfriend. It took 36 hours, it was December and freezing cold, but such an amazing experience.
