ABOUT ME

The basic stuff is that I am a twenty year old young-ish woman who has a borderline fanatical desire to expand my knowledge of world politics/human behavior/other important anthropolgical stuff through actual, physical exploration. Essentially, I am OBSESSED with traveling. I think that it should be each persons' responsibility (particularly Americans, because we tend to live in an isolation bubble) to see the numerous ways that other human beings live. I believe that after students graduate from high school the United States government should pay for any young person to travel the world for at least a couple months before they enter into any form of "higher eduation." This will ensure that the next generation of Americans will be personally acquainted with other cultures instead of just spending money to read about them in college, (hence expanding their understanding of the world). I think this is especially important because technology is kind of feeding us this false sense of connectedness, which doesn't actually exist... Ok, now that I am done preaching here's some facts about my life. I have lived in Amsterdam for almost a year now, and it was one of the most important learning experiences ever. I have been working as an aupair and working to absorb the essence of dutch culture. Amsterdam is entirely unique and wonderful, and I feel really connected to the city- it is my second home. Unfortunately my visa is about to expire, so soon I'll be heading back to the land of illegal underage drinking and gun violence! It's going to be very strange... I am also obsessively devoted to healthy food that HAS NOT BEEN PROCESSED. Seriously, that shit shouldn't even be allowed. Also I have a big forehead. Above average size I would say!
IN conclusion I am bad at computers and I don't know why my profile picture is upside down... AND I don't have facebook.

Newbie. Hoping to surf and willing to host in the future!

Hey Seattle peeps that keep hitting me up! I live in Amsterdam right now... And won't be back until July 1st, at which point I will be living with my parents until I get my shit together. Basically that means that I can't host, but I always love meeting other travelers and can provide temporary friendship/questionable spiritual wisdom/ good times during the summer months!

I am intersted in people and stories. I love hearing about experiences and learning from everyone I meet. Strangers are my favorite, because with every chance encounter you are presented with the infinite potential of everything you could possibly learn from a person. It's a wonderful feeling. I'm also obsessed with cooking (bomb vegetarian stuff), Bikram yoga, drawing, DANCING (is probably the most important thing in life) eating, and having the best time possible. I really just want to do everything. I have even attempted to be a raw foodist... but it only lasted like a week.... because cookies are great. ALSO FRUIT. My interests include fruit. Cause it's delish.
