Being brave and going on my first solo travel adventure, and improving my French so I don't blush every time someone asks me "ça va?"

ABOUT ME

I'm a country girl who moved to the city for uni and to escape the small town trap. I grew up on the seaside, so I have a deeply ingrained addiction to the ocean and the sand, although unfortunately I still lack the ability to get a tan. The thing I love most in this world are my friends and family, and to have silly and serious conversations with them over much food and wine. I'm terrible at small talk, but I love to meet new people and learn about their lives. I have a vast array of nicknames, mainly in relation to my height and the size of my eyes.

PHILOSOPHY

To paraphrase Tim Minchin (Australian comedian/musician/poet), who I was lucky enough to hear speak at my graduation:
"You don't have to have a dream... if you have something that you’ve always dreamed of, like, in your heart, go for it! ... And if it’s a big enough one, it’ll take you most of your life to achieve, so by the time you get to it and are staring into the abyss of the meaninglessness of your achievement, you’ll be almost dead so it won’t matter.

And so I advocate passionate dedication to the pursuit of short-term goals. Be micro-ambitious. Put your head down and work with pride on whatever is in front of you… you never know where you might end up."

I'm a CS novice! So far on my trip, CS has been the absolute highlight. Every single person has been welcoming, open, generous, and genuinely interested in my experience.
