HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I met some couch surfers in my life and I was always curious about it. Finally, in 2012, I joined this friendly CS world.
I live in a not tourist town, and there's not public transportation nearby. whoever has a car or can easily organize his/her time with mine is welcome

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far I met some great people. The amazing thing is that with quite a few became my friends. My last trip (in Mexico and US, two months of fun and discoveries) was with the huge backpack that a couch surfer friend gave to me after he traveled with it through Russia hitchhiking. When I travel with this magic backpack I feel I'm safe, no matter what's going on around me. Just an example of the amazing gifts I have received from the CS'world.
Unfortunately, I also had a very unpleasant experience. I was traveling with a friend, she chose the host profile for me and even though I personally didn't like it I accepted to send a request. What a mistake!! Now I know: rigid people, with too many rules, those you have to pass an exam before they accept you, are not for me. She was so unfriendly and judgmental. My experience with rigid people never works in life, never in CS.
Just be free!!! always respectful, but free! and let the others be free as well :-)

I love traveling, dancing, everything that deals with conscious movement, including dinamic meditations. I love meditation, I'm a vegetarian, almost vegan, and I do love to be in nature. I also do love cinema, whatching it and making it. I love Venice, near where I live, because you don't need a car to go around ;-)

Movies, I watch so many, depending on the mood. I love silly movies, I love deep movies, I love horror movies. I have so many favorite movies. I could name some directors. Let's see. Among the living ones: Todd Haynes, Gregg Araki, Abel Ferrara, Michael Mann, Brian De Palma (I could watch Carlito's way thousands times and still get emotional at the end), Andrew Dominik (The Assassination of Jesse James By the Coward Robert Ford). And I loved The tree of life, Terrence Malick.
ok, I should stop or I will never end to talk about movies ;- Oh! forgot. Quentin Tarantino.
Books: I like crime stories very much. Edward Bunker, Joseph Wambaugh (amazing, amazing book about the LA police department The Choirboys), Pete Dexter, James Ellroy and of course Elmore Leonard and John Lansdale. Their books are like candies..
Music: I grew up with rock music, as it happens to many Italian people.. rock concerts of little Italian rock bands..So for Italy Marlene Kuntz, Afterhours, CSI when they existed, and abroad Pearl Jam, Muse, Placebo, Nick Cave, PJ Harvey. But also Fiona Apple, Gotam Project, Pet Shop Boys. I like Lavender, Watsonville Patio (and the movie with a very young and not yet famous Angelina Jolie) Mojave Moon

Met very closely: a bear, an eagle, an owl. Slept in a tepee. Slept near the Gran Paradiso mountain on my sleeping bag under a roof made by billions of stars, never seen as many. A Nick Cave concert. Drove over night from NYC to Baltimore. Crossed the US coast to coast by car. Never slept in a motel. Only tent, car, friends, few couch surfers..
