69. I have twins who are aged 35. daughter introduced me to couch surfing) I am laid back and enjoy having people to stay. Now that my children have left home I have 3 spare bedrooms most of the time though I have loads of friends to stay and the kids come home with their friends at holiday times. I work part time in child and adolescent mental health.

PHILOSOPHY

boadly socialist feminist but not hard line. Member of Greenpeace and friends of the Earth. Not religious but respect those who are as long as they respect my right not to be religious and understsnd that I have my own values worked out.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have had 12 couch surfers so far and have really enjoyed havng them to stay with us. I havent stayed on anyones couch so far though have visited couchsurfers and been made very welcome. I have also socialised with couch surfers in Belfast.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My daughter had a good experience and then I heard a programme about it on BBC Radio 4. Experience all good so far.

Interests

I like gardening (when the weather is good) , learning and speaking foreign languages, being sociable and meeting people, sailing my dinghy and kayaking on the sea just in front of my house in the summer. I like drawing, knitting and sewing. Just getting a campervan.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

being a parent with my husband Graham, sadly now deceased, has been the most amazing thing I have done although it was the hardest job I ever did.

I could teach things about gardening especially seed sowing and growing veg, sailing dinghies, basic english and conversation though I dont have a TEFL qualification
