About Me
Hello, my name is Pierre, I’m French and I’m 30 years old.
I live and work in Paris for 6 years now but I was born and raised in the city of Angers (in the West of France, close to Bretagne).
My parents are both from the West of France and I have a little brother named Nicolas, three years younger than me.
I’m very social and open mind, I like to meet people share with them and learn from them.
I like hanging with my friends for a drink and a good laugh.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m planning a world trip for 5 months from the end of November 2015 to the end of April 2016. I will start by Thailand then Myanmar, Australia, Argentina, Chile, Bolivia and finally Brazil.
At first I didn’t plan on joining the Couchsurfing community because I didn’t thought of it. I have been used to travel and meet people on the way but usually I didn’t have the time to spend more than one or two drinks with them.
And I used to travel with friends, so we used to stay in hostels.
But this time it’s different! I will have much more time for myself and meet people. This travel is important to me because I want to take my time.
Take the time to visit, to walk on the street and watch how people live, meet people and discover their culture etc…
So I’m not on Couchsurfing especially to find a place to stay, I just want to find a way that we help me to know people from different cultures and share, learn about that.
Interests
I like lots of things like most of people but what I like especially is Photography, I have a reflex and a silver camera. I take pretty much everything but what I prefer is pictures of people.
I have been practicing Krav Maga for 3 years. But I’m not that kind of guy who likes to fight, what I like about this martial art is that it’s very complete in a physical way and you learn many things which can help you in some situations.
I’m a huge fan of Science Fiction! That why I like so much movies, comics, books and all the other things that refer to SF.

Music, Movies, and Books
I listen to pretty much all king of music but what I like the most is electro music like “Justice”, “Daft Punk”, “Junior Boys”, “SebastiAn” etc…
I really like watching movies and especially SF movies. If I have to choose one, it will be “Alien” (the first one), the really first SF movie that I’ve seen when I was young. It’s also the one which scared me the most at that time.
I read mostly thriller and SF books. My favorite ones are “The Thanatonauts” from Bernard Werber and “Flowers for Algernon” from Daniel Keyes.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
What comes in my mind is not something that I have done but something that I have seen.
I went in Jordan 3 years ago with two of my friends. After spending 1 week in the north and center of the country, we took 3 days to visit the desert of Wadi Rum in the south.
We slept two nights in the desert with no lights. It was the first time of my life that I saw a sky like this, it was full of stars.
It was so magic and silence, one of the most beautiful thing in the world. We were able to see the Milky Way which is like a belt of stars in the middle of the sky.
Even if I didn’t take a picture that night, I am not sad because I still have it in my head.
Teach, Learn, Share
I like talking to people and share culture.
I know that you can’t just learn about people by reading books, watching tv or reading things on the internet.
We all have something to learn from each other. It can be from a way of life or a way of thinking, which makes us different and interesting.
What I Can Share with Hosts
In an abstract way, I can share my culture as a French or as a Parisian, my travels and the things that I liked.
Then a good laugh after few drinks :D
In France, I have been teaching Krav Maga for beginners so I can also teach few things in self-defence.
It’s not only physical, it’s also behaviour and it can really be helpful.
I like Photography and I’d like to share tips or just teach how to use a reflex camera.
But in fact, I can pretty much speak, share of anything as long as I have someone interested or interesting to talk to.
