Overview
About Me
Tour guide in Lake Como, Italy. Huge music Lover. Mad for languages.
I am Italian (my name on passport is actually Pietro) but half of my family roots are in Croatia.
That's why I love slavic languages and the Eastern world is always so fascinating to me.
I love to travel because I adore the multiple and incredible sensations that one can feel just being far from home and especially meeting different people and exchanging ideas, learning about different cultures.
I have an old Italian motorbike that I call "the mule", and he's one of my best travel companions.
I like open-minded people. People that don't have a unique point of view.
No pessimists.
No optimists.
I love people that are really into life,
but not too much, as if to forget death.
That's it!
PHILOSOPHY

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I generally like to share. I have a couch and plenty of space! I really think that it's a great experience to live at least a couple of days in Como lake, I also can help with the planning, as I am a tour guide hehe. You're welcome!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've been doing couchsurfing for a while now, and already surfed to several cities and places in Europe.
I didn't use the site for a few years after it became a pay site, but in the end I decided to get back because literally it's the best way of getting to know like-minded people and travel on the road.
I had some wonderful experiences besides CS though, just meeting random people on the street: always been struck by the kindness and generosity of the people met by chance during my trips, (e.g. those offering you to share the meal on russian/ukrainian trains, others a place to sleep for the night when the hostel was full, in Norway). To me, people is definitely the most important reasons to travel.

Music, Movies, and Books
This is a very hard question to answer to: I love music: I listen to very different kinds of music. I love all kinds of r n'r but also electronics, alternative and classical music. I like songwriters, too. I can hang on listening to Jack Johnson, and in a couple of hours end up with Zorn or UNKLE. Or Vincent Gallo.
Here are some words and names, actually most famous.
David Bowie, Lou reed (and the VU) and Iggy pop (the punk and rock narrative trio, to which I add Eno for the immense innovative and composing skills); in this songwriting subgenre I love Elliott Smith. Radiohead and everything from Thom Yorke; punk crap: I prefer the oldies, of course the Ramones, pistols, clash and kennedys, and the 80s hardcore straight edge scene it's gas! Industrial: Einsturzende Neubauten, but sometimes I try also Merbow and some much more radical. Post-Rock, instrumental, Goodspeed you black Emperor!
Electronics, IDM and techno, but no house, no commercial. The Jesus and Mary Chain, Joy division and the Cure are the best from the dark side, they just feed me with power. After that it's all Dead Can Dance.
Beside all of that, obviously I used to love all the old rock stuff like the Sabbath, Zeppelin, Deep Purple similar and some progressive from the 70s; all the lates 60s freak shit, 'specially the Doors, Hendrix and the Who. Everything from Dylan, Cash and Cohen.
In this last period I am listening a lot to folk music, especially from the east, and that is the kind of party-music I really enjoy, but I also like the more calm and reflexive folk songs and ballads.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
What is incredible?? Nothing is incredible and everything is possible!
But if I'd choose some of the things I am most proud of, then:
when I was 17 yo I drove my moped Malaguti F10 50cc from home to Budapest, Hungary, amazing trip.
I had many other good travels including North Cape in Norway and a three-month stay in Moscow in freezing wintertime! I traveled the Transsiberian train to Vladivostok.
Climbed up to 4.228 m on the Monte Rosa in the Italian Alps.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm a good cook and I really love to cook for the others while sipping some good wine, it makes me feel good and helps to create a good atmosphere.
I'm a linguist so very much into languages... if you need any help with Italian I do that with pleasure))
I also do play guitar, but not as often as I did before.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Good conversations I hope, and usually I have with me some small present from Italy.
I love to cook, and especially, cook together, the more, the better.
