My name is Pilar!
I have been traveling for years, and finally have my own space in Arcata to provide for those using couchsurfing. I am ready to use this on my latest trip planned to Panama and Columbia. I love meeting people from all over the world, and I speak Spanish because of my Argentinean and Uruguayan parents. I love sharing that ability with people I encounter abroad, and practicing and learning new words and about new cultures and really being able to connect with people of all different walks of life.

I want to not only be able to have a more intimate and friendly encounter with people I meet, but be able to provide that for people coming through my area.

兴趣

I love traveling, speaking Spanish, dancing, Latin music, Spanish music (flamenco), playing instruments, especially the guitar, surfing, snorkeling, reading, jewelry, making and creating jewelry and art, painting/drawing/you name it, cooking healthy delicious food, farming and gardening, the outdoors, rock climbing, hiking, I love animals and people, really enjoy trying new things and adventures.

I love Latin music, love to dance until the sun comes up when I'm on the road, as well as acoustic guitar, love flamenco Spanish style guitar, wish I could play that good, but I'm on my way. I also love rock and roll, psychdelic music from throughout the years, reggae, punk rock etc!! love it all. -- Flaming Lips, Beatles, Bebe, Juan Makande, Dresden Dolls, Amy Winehouse, Ani Difranco, Grateful Dead just to name a few random ones.

I've pet sharks while snorkeling off Coiba island.
For the good of the world? Volunteering on Fruit Tree Tour planting fruit trees at low income schools in California for a non-profit called Common Vision.

I can teach through my experiences, Spanish, English. (have experienced many Spanish classes and taught English
I love to cook, and have been vegetarian for years, so I have a lot of insight on health and healthy living as well as how to make delicious vegetarian food!
I am also learning and improving my surfing, and would love pointers!! I love active things- hiking, identifying plants, snorkel anything you name it! especially if its near the beach.
I often like to travel with some art supplies, so I can share and would love to hear ideas on artwork, potential pieces I could make/sell, as I plan on doing so once back in my hometown of Arcata, CA. I can do some macrame and make some jewelery as well, usually incorporating awesome natural pieces I find. Also into doing murals or community projects.
I usually travel with an instrument as well, so love playing guitar and learning new things with that.
