About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Last year I became a father so I guess that changed my goals a bit. On a personal level I would like to provide a strong foundation and many laughs for my family. Me and my wife would also love to buy a house someday.
At my job I love the fact that my work really brings value to patients. And with traveling our current mission is to visit New Zealand this year. Really excited to travel with a 11 month old 'bundle of joy'.
ABOUT ME
I like to think I'm a nice, talkative, easy going guy, who almost never gets upset or angry. I like to meet interesting people and to know how they see the world.
Furthermore I'm Dutch, quite tall and I can be outgoing. I like to try and experience as much as possible and I hate bars/restaurants with many options to chose from, because I will suffer from "keuzestress". That's why in a pizza place, I will always go for the pizza with the same name as the restaurant :D
PHILOSOPHY
Don't complain, act crazy and enjoy!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have hosted and surfed while I was a bit younger. With a baby I haven't felt the need to host, but might pick it up later.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
overall very good. Stayed with people in the states, czech republic, belgium, norway and south africa.
Hosted people from spain, italy, sweden and lithuania
Interests
I like Biology, Board games, long conversations and acting a bit crazy and impulsive
Music, Movies, and Books
I read a lot when I was young, but forgot about it during my study. I recently got a e-reader and have been reading a lot again this year.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Together with my girlfriend I collected money and set up a healthcentre diagnostic lab in rural Uganda near Soroti. In addition we worked volontarily in a hospital near Kisoro. Afterwards we lived in South Africa for almost 2 years.
Furthermore I traveled the world as a service employee at formula 1 races and championship finales and I was a bartender in the Holland Heineken House during the olympic games in London.
Teach, Learn, Share
Weird facts, enthousiastic dance moves and positive thinking
I can't play an instrument and don't speak much languages, but I am broadly interested and love to discuss and think about (and hopefully improve) someone's problems, ideas or situation.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Nice conversations, meals, information about my country or professional background.
