I am a PhD student of Slavic Studies at Brown University. In an earlier life, I was a high school teacher in Washington, D.C. Born in Warsaw, Poland, I have lived most of his life in the United States.

I listen to a lot of golden age hip hop from the 1980s and 1990s, but also new Jay-Z and Run the Jewels. This does not stop me from listening to a lot of jazz and classical music, though. My favorite movies are by Tarantino, Scorsese, Malick, Tarkovsky, and Ozu. Favorite books include those by Dostoevsky, Gombrowicz, Babel, Foucault, Woolf, and Homer.
