About Me

just a guy who likes to travel and meet new people

NOW
Im currently doing my gap year. For the past few months I have been working abroad and volunteering (through workaway) in many european countries - I was working at the farm in Lapland where I got to see reindeers and northern lights, I was teaching English to Russian kids in the suburbs of Mikkeli city, recently I have been teaching English and Polish in Ukrainian language school where students' age was really varied. Simultaneously I'm trying to be as much a tourist as it's possible so as to have tons of memories :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet new people (which is also why I decided to take a gap year). With new people even common activities - having a discussion, exchanging views, sharing stories - become really exciting as we are interacting with individuals with completely different standpoints and attitudes. I consider it the best part of traveling - thanks to that, we become more tolerant and open-minded, not to mention the fact that we can form a long lasting bonds. And give each other fridge magnets.

Music, Movies, and Books

When it comes to literature, among my favorite pieces one can find classics of 20th century literature (To kill a Mockingbird, On the road, 100 years of solitude etc) but it isn't hard to find more popular books too; written by Jo Nesbo, Stephen King or Michael Connely. Literature is actually one of my favourite hobbies so if you meet me, expect to hear me talking a lot about books I'm currently reading.

Love folk-rock and indie rock music but I'm easily adjustable to be honest. I can listen to almost every genre, especially ones which are calm and not too loud. I love cinema classics like Shawshank redemption or Forrest Gump but nice comedy or drama is always welcome

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I don't consider myself adequate for such assessments but I can share an experience I feel good about. With a few other volunteers in the city of Khmelnytskyi, we collected and donated clothes, linens and food to nursing home for children with various disorders during orthodox Christmas time. The weather had been pesky cold but the reaction of kids was worth it.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm quite familiar with constellations so yea, that could be it. If you want a really miserable Polish teacher, you can have that as well!

What I Can Share with Hosts

stories, viewpoints, interests, really bad jokes which only Polish people can understand but maybe thats better

Countries I’ve Visited

Denmark, England, Estonia, Finland, France, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Ukraine

Countries I’ve Lived In

England, Poland, Scotland
