I am a fantasy author and all-round English language nerd, overly fond of video games, Marvel comics, and cats (though I don't have any at the moment). I believe that life is all about learning, seeking out the things that pique my curiosity, and there is no topic I don't want to discuss.
I spend a lot of time with my head buried in my own invented worlds but I never want to lose sight of the real world. There is always more to see, more to share.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I travelled extensively when I was younger, but have been stranded in Bristol for several years due to a bad injury. I hope to spread my wings again, and meeting people around the world is infinitely more interesting than hopping from one hotel to another.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy a wide variety of music, including musical theatre, classical orchestral music, rock and metal. There is almost nothing I won't listen to. Favourite bands include Iron Maiden, Nightwish and Pink Floyd.

Favourite movies include A Knight's Tale, Mulan, Third Star, Marvel's Cinematic Universe and the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

My all time favourite book is The Lord of the Rings. I generally favour fantasy, and the Discworld and Pern novels are particular favourites. I also write fantasy novels of my own.

I once flew a helicopter from England to the Czech Republic.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am very well versed in the use of English and teaching advanced English to others. I also have some proficiency in French. I am a pretty good cook and cake maker. If music is your thing, I can't play any instruments but I can sing, and love doing so.
I like picking up bits and pieces of languages.
