ABOUT ME

Studied Chemical Physics for 5 years, then worked as a robotics engineer before hitting the road.

I come from a small Scottish island and grew up listening to many stories of travel. I cannot shake the desire to see as much of the world as possible, there is just so much to see and do!

PHILOSOPHY

Most people are basically good and one should treat others as you would wish to be treated. Have fun whenever possible!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet new people and learn from them. What better way to do so than surf some couches!

Used while traveling, keen to surf some more.

Interests

I love cycle touring. Seeing the world by bike gets you places faster than walking while slow enough to appreciate the world around you. And you meet so many people!

Now I am on the road I can finally read the mountain of books I have neglected for years. Everything from fantasy fiction to political history.

Love social dancing. Brought up with Scottish ceilidh dancing, learned some swing in recent years.

Sustainability in many aspects of life will become more important as time goes on. I see myself working in either sustainable energy, housing, resource management or food in the future.

Very fond of getting to know new people over a couple of beers.

Helped with several surgeries on animals throughout my childhood.

I can fix a bike and a computer, and have a go at fixing most other things.

I also really enjoy cooking, and can show you how to brew wine/beer if you have the time.

I am ever wanting to learn anything people can teach me. There will always be something new to learn.
