About Me

CURRENT MISSION

make it round the world without crashing!!!...

ABOUT ME

After six years living the London life, my boyfriend and I decided it was time for a change before we got old and grey! We've been on the road for six months through India, South-East Asia and are currently in China. We're a little older than the average backpackers (29) but as a result we're clean and tidy and won't stagger in drunk at 4am unless we've gone out with you!
We're happy just to stay but hope that we can find hosts who want to share a bit of their local life with us..to us that's what makes it better than a hostel.

PHILOSOPHY

My boyfriend insists that
"I want to accumulate experiences faster than I'm accumulating grey hairs on my head!"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now we're taking but once we settle down (probably in Melbourne around Christmas) we fully intend to give back.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My boyfriend's brother is a regular host in London (but he never seems to travel himself!).

We've just been staying with a guy in Suzhou in China (we met him in a youth hostel 1000km away and he invited us to come and stay)..we couch surfed without using couchsurfer.com and having had a great experience we'd like to do it more.

Interests

Right now we're obsessed with travelling. We're also obsessed with food so please point us in the direction of your favourite local restaurant. We like sports so any opportunity to see a local match or two of any crazy game would be fun.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite book ever is Time Travellers wife. Between us we like anything by Bill Bryson, Wilbur Smith and Michael Crichton. Favourites on this trip so far include Shantaram and Holy Cow (on India), First they killed my father (on Cambodia), Wild Swans (on China).
We just watched 'The Hangover' last week which had us in stitches and has gone straight into our top 10. My boyfriend likes the action packed comic book adaptations - X-Men, Spiderman, Batman and so on. He has to go see those with his friends - I prefer my films a little deeper - Constant Gardner and Hotel Rwanda are up there with the best.
As for music - so many possibilities but some of our favourites include; Dave Matthews, Prince, Angie Stone, Katie Melua, Beyonce, Kings of Leon, Coldplay, Oasis, Missy Higgins,10CC and the Chillies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiking for 3 days out to a Himalayan view point at Phalut near Darjeeling (north India). Hearing the rain crashing down all night but then waking at 6am to a clear view over Katchenjunga (3rd highest mountatin in the world at 8600m ish) - just to top it off Everest was over to the left.

Teach, Learn, Share

Happy to share travel tips and route planning info for everywhere we've been over the last 29 years..
We're English so we're particular experts on living and working in England.
We're both qualified accountants so if you really (!) had a need for that skill we'd help you..
