ABOUT ME
Geesh, where to begin? Well, Rose and I met in Antarctica over a Scrabble Game and it has been a wonderful life ever since. Been together now - whoa! - 12 years and live in Washington in our recently built house (2011) surrounded by cedars, mountains and, yeah, rain (sometimes). Roselie is a massage practitioner and avid gardener. Tom manages the estate and dabbles in rare books. We are both active in outdoor pursuits, especially hiking, backpacking, and cycling and skiing. News flash! The guest room has just been completed! That is the accommodation awaiting you. So, if you like quiet, remoteness, hiking, small town hospitality and good cooking maybe you'd like to spend a night "couchsurfing" with us.
In August 2011 we purchased our own property! It is 7 acres and well treed, along a river. Since then we have created a little paradise using natural building techniques, fruit trees, large garden, a library w/1000 books, art in the woods, and (soon) a cob oven. These things alone should entice you to visit and contribute to our ongoing philosophy.'

Besides that I love a good Sunday Crossword (NY Times)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Worked in Antarctica installing a neutrino detector (Tom). Life is full of amazing things - one just has to notice them (Roselie).
Teach, Learn, Share
Since it is impossible for any one person to know everything we believe that it is through Couchsurfing that we will fill in the gaps of knowledge and experience. When you stay with us we will share with you what we know and strive to give you the "insider's" tour of attractions as well as our philiosophy.
What I Can Share with Hosts
We can be your local hosts for this region of Washington. Besides that we hope to share with travelers the unpredictable and often wonderful events/thoughts that have brought us this far. We like cooking with whole foods as well and hope to share some of our recipes straight from the table.
Just one note: We have not hosted much because we are located in the middle of nowhere. 1.5 hours north of Seattle at the base of a mountain chain. Not many people come this way. We get maybe one request every year. We hope for more guests. Perhaps you will be next to visit?
