About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I'm working my way from the US East to the West Coast by Oct. 2012. Plans are to stop by Honolulu early Nov. 2012 before heading to Manila, PI for 6 months. After that I plan to go to Tokyo.

ABOUT ME

They'd say I was crazy. All kidding aside. I've spent the past 12 months doing a little soul searching. I haven't been in one place for more than 3 months since embarking on my journey. They'll tell you that they miss me, but I keep in touch fairly often. They'll tell you I go out of my way to meet up with a friend. I have trouble saying no because I want to part of everything, and I don't want to miss out. It leads to some interesting adventures, but I then need to spend time recouping.

PHILOSOPHY

There's no time for regrets. I enjoy the day as if it were my last. I can go to sleep knowing I did all I could.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm a newbie to the CouchSurfing world. I hope that someone will take a chance on me, and I plan to pay it forward in the future.

Interests

I'll never stop trying to learn new things. I've got a list a mile long, that I slowly chip at by trying tons of things at the same time. My activities include: singing karaoke, playing guitar, rock climbing, I tried surfing a couple times, I'm a volunteer firefighter and EMT, I taught ESL/citizenship, and I performed with a semi-professional salsa dance team. Currently I'm brushing up on my tennis skills, crossfitting 3 times a week. I'm interested in learning new languages...mastering my spanish and tagalog, while picking up japanese, mandarin, and whatever else I can get my hands on.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In November 2011, I spent 4 weeks in the Zen Mountain Monastery at Mount Tremper, NY. By removing a lot of the things I took for granted, I had a glimpse at what was important to me (or something close to it). It's something I'll take with me for the rest of my life.
