About Me

I like to walk amongst mountains and eat all the pastries I bring with me. I enjoy learning cool facts, reading up about psychology and economics or finding new board/card games to play with friends. I was brought up near a city but I'm most at home in nature. I'm currently writing a book about psychology, mostly for me to learn but maybe it'll help someone on their inner growth journey too.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've been traveling for 12 months and between hostels and hotels I'm constantly changing because neither is quite right. I found the most comfort while hitchhiking through the Caucuses where I met locals and got to share apricots over every conversation. I got invited several times to stay with people who picked me up and I want to continue to exchange of talking about Australia while learning about the pastries and ethnic traditions that differ around the world. I have seen many great sites already so now want to slow down a bit and see the little parts of life. Hoping to stay with some locals, make some tea and chat about life.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like movies with comments about society/humanity so things like In time, Inception, 12 Angry Men and Inside Out.
I'll listen to all music types when a passenger in a car but prefer electronic dance music in headphones.
Lately I've been reading a lot of self help books but otherwise its psychology and economics related. 4 hour work week, thinking fast and slow, freakonomics and The happiness trap.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In my 20s I invented a new photo printing concept. I learnt to write some software, created and improve systems and eventually built a company to make it profitable. I ran the company for five years before selling to new owners. I didn't make much money but I always paid my staff and got to travel around Australia to work at events.
