About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Saving money and learning Japanese to spend a Working Holiday year in Japan without going completely broke and while being able to talk to the locals and not just to other tourists.
ABOUT ME
I'm easygoing and generally open for everything. I like learning new things! :)
Some people would probably say I'm rather quiet, but that always depends on the circumstances. I MIGHT talk you to death about life, the universe and everything, but only if you want me to. ;) Also, I'm quite a fluffy person, by which I mean that I can enjoy the little things in life and it's usually easy to make me laugh. ^^
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I would like to travel more and meet new people from all over the world, so I joined Couchsurfing some time ago. I'd also like to host, but so far my rooms were never big enough to host someone else or I was too busy with work.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
After I made this account I did not travel for quite a while. That means I have no CS experience so far, but I hope to meet some great people in the future! :)
Interests
For quite a while, I spent my time packing and unpacking my stuff, meeting new people in new cities in Germany and getting to know travelers from around the world in hostels. But now I've been living in the same place for more than two years (a first for me!), so I'm just traveling through Germany to meet my friends, who live all over the country. :)
When I'm alone, conscious (i.e. don't lack sleep and had enough coffee) and I have enough time on my hands, I spend a lot of that time reading a variety of stuff including manga, watching anime or writing articles about whatever I'm thinking about at that moment.

Music, Movies, and Books
While I like music, I'm not really enthusiastic enough about it to memorize a lot of names. Blasphemy, I know. ^^' I can listen to pop-music-stuff on the radio and really enjoy dancing to faster songs, but when I listen to music by myself, it's generally more metal-ish or electronica-like stuff. Maybe it's easier the other way around? I hate: German party songs (and/or "Schlager") and slow love songs, which are so sickly sweet they give you diabetes just by listening.
The same is true for books: I don't read romance novels, although I can ignore or even enjoy romance which fits into a good story and is only a small part of it. I like books with a lot of action in them, crime novels, not too boringly written sci-fi or fantasy which does not take itself too serious.
Let's see ... I enjoy young adult books like "Young Sherlock", awesome genre-defying things like the "Dresden Files" or pure genius such as the Discworld novels.
I don't really watch movies, I'm more into anime shows. There, I said it. While I really like Star Wars and also Star Trek (yes, that's possible) or even some Stargate SG-1, I'm no expert, so don't ask me anything too geeky - except maybe for Captain Kirk's second name. I might just happen to have read that somewhere. :D The rest of the time, just gimme something like Detective Conan, Psycho Pass, Ghost in the Shell or Noragami and I'm happy. ^^
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
A friend and I once had to sleep on horrible metalgrid benches at London Heathrow Airport, because we missed our flight. Of course we did not get a minute of sleep ... because we spent half of the night laughing about ourselves and nearly fell of those benches. For me that means: Everywhere can be an adventure, funny or simply great if you have the right attitude! ;)
Teach, Learn, Share
Teaching?
I could probably help you with things related to Wordpress.com, since that's the platform I use for blogging and maybe some other content management systems. And of course I'm always happy to help if you'd like to improve your English or German. :)
Since my study courses were all taught in English and I have lived in the UK for a few months, I can ensure you that although I am no native speaker, my English at the very least does not suck. ^^ My Spanish and French abilities on the other hand are ... well, I might understand some really simple sentences. I just put that up there in case you don't have any other way of communicating with me.
If you don't mind vegan stuff, I could also cook something for us. If you _do_ mind, I can still entertain you while you're cooking non-vegan meals, which is what I often did for my previous flatmates. Talking about random things, while they prepared steaks. ^^' Just so you know that you cooking whatever won't bother me at all and that I won't bully your food. ;)
Learning?
I like learning new things. Right now, I'm learning Japanese. That's because I'm planning to go there in October 2016. Besides being into Manga and Anime, which led me to become interested in Japan, I'm also really interested in seeing the traditional side of the country and meet lots of new people there. Maybe we'll meet there? :) Even if you can't host, but want to show off your awesome city: I'm in!
What I Can Share with Hosts
My experiences with tons of different flatmates, living in different German cities, a bit of sarcasm and of course an open ear if you want to discuss something. :)
