About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Be kind. Open a hostel as a hotbed for social activism and community organizing
ABOUT ME
I'd say that i'm about equal parts activist/gypsy/homebody/overgrown kid. I grew up in the suburbs of CT but have had the great opportunity of traveling and living in lots of different places. I have a special love for all things Latin American, although I'm very close to my Dutch roots and big family.
I enjoy doing things outside, would rather walk than ride, talk than watch TV and above all explore and learn. I like the idea of couch surfing since some friends in San Juan were hosts and met lots of interesting people. I think its a great way to exchange with people you might otherwise not met, plus travel on a budget.
PHILOSOPHY
Appreciate the beauty around me and try to add to it
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I would like to return the favor of many people who showed me the amazing things here in Puerto Rico. I have an apartment with a guest bedroom in central Rio Piedras, in the heart of San Juan close to public transport and the major university.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I had friends who were hosts, and had a great time accompanying their int'l friends to different places. I have a history of hosting/staying on friends couches, and believe that making things more human and less about money is important in all things, and especially travel.
