Overview
About Me
Lived in Berlin for about 8 years, now leaving my berlin family for a bit for some new adventures. These adventures will definitely include somehow getting myself and my bicycle to England, the rest is pretty much wide open.
I like finding out and thinking about how things work. Like my 70s electronic knitting machine or power structures.
When my flatmates and I hosted the past six years we always saw our guests as temporary housemates for that time, and as a couchsurfing guest I'm looking for that same feeling I guess. Building community is important to me and something I think about a lot.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Host, sometimes surf, read about other people's adventures in the hitchhikers' group.
making random connections with strangers is about my favourite thing in the world. it's also what I like about hitchhiking, it really gives me hope the world is not such a fucked up place after all.
Interests
(over)thinking, knitting, making plans, making stuff, finding out how things work, gigs, sewing, train rides, hitchhiking, geeky stuff, doing nothing, discovering new favourite bands, anarchism_s, riding my bike, fixing things, camping, being outdoors, hiding inside under the covers, feminism, community and how to build it, horizontal decision-making and questioning what that's supposed to mean in the first place.

Music, Movies, and Books
Anything that moves me, my favourite movies are ones that either make me cry or laugh hard, can be a dramatic lovestory, a trashy comedy or a shocking documentary. Same with books, they should either be a little over the top in some way and I also like about anything non-fiction.
music: i pretty much like anything with a guitar, a violin, a ukulele, a theremin, an accordion, harmony singing or synthesizers. the more of those combined the better. if you're curious: http://www.last.fm/user/bananasplitlady

cycling in general (berlin-gdansk, berlin-warszawa, vienna - beograd)
lots of random great hitch-hiking experiences.
crossed vietnam on a motorbike. this was suggested by our emergency couchsurfing host on our first night and we bought the bike the the next morning. still one of my best trips and couchsurfing stories.
seems to be more about the way than the destination for me, huh. and the people i meet along the way.
