ABOUT ME

I'm creative. I'm positive. I'm confident. I thrive on being around people that share these qualities.

So I'm creative mainly through my work, but I'm less of a hippy/artist, and more of a commercial sellout, trying to keep it real on the side;)

I'm into life being good, people having fun, and generally just making the most of our short time on this planet!

I love to indulge in the arts and anything slightly off beat.

PHILOSOPHY

It always gets better you know? Today is better than yesterday, and tomorrow will top them both.

It's true you know - every now and then there are ups and downs, but for the most part it just gets better. Sounds a bit preachy, but this has been my fortunate experience of life thus far.

Oh, also... Life's too short to unplug USB safely.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I enjoy hosting visitors and love being absorbed into the lives of new friends. I prefer to meet and engage with hosts rather than just seeing the website as a "free ride".

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I hosted my first couch surfer in 2009 and since then we've stayed great friends.

After discovering CS I rarely travel to new cities without meeting local people. What I've found is that travel without engaging with a cities inhabitants is bland and not for me. My travels through Asia have been extremely rich due to the many friends that I've made and the rewarding experiences we've had. I've had opportunities to eat street food in the most questionable of alleys, I've been invited to the most lavish of extravagant weddings, I've met local celebrities and stayed up to watch the sunrise with new friends. I can honestly say that my CS encounters have steered my life in a new direction that it would never have taken without the connections made (yay!)

Interesses

Well, I like the arts. I'm interested in film, live shows, though I tend to veer away from traditional western theater.

When I was younger I was very interested in magic, although it's been a long time since those days.

I play a wicked game of foosball - although that too has taken a bit of a knock lately.

I'm passionate about creating beautiful moving imagery, and that tends to keep me busy most of the time. You can have a look at some of my work on my site:

I like to drink ice cold beer late in the afternoon - good beer, craft beer.

In recent years I've developed an refined appreciation for anatomy. I also love photography which I don't get to have fun with nearly often enough. I like to photograph people's faces most.

I'd love to offer some very meaningful life lessons - but for now I'm going to limit my offer to a small origami pixie shoe... Perhaps one day we'll meet, and then this is the past down knowledge that I can teach to you.

If you feel that you might be able to impart some wisdom about the world I'm always interested to hear it - please just don't come to me with the words "Jahova" and "Witness" in the same sentence.

...(don't get me wrong - some of my best friends use those words all the time;)
