About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To embark on a road trip to the East Coast of USA

ABOUT ME

I am presently a wonderer. I've lived in the East Coast of the US where I was raised. I came to LA to study screenwriting and instead got into performing and writing theatre and poetry: and I recently married my skills on short photo/films with music and poetry. I've seen many suns set by the cold Pacific. Now, I want to watch the sun rise over the warm currents of the Atlantic.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm personally conservative, but socially extremely open to diversity and alternative lifestyles. Consider myself spiritual but I do not advocate nor follow any particular religion though I'm drawn to Buddhist practices such as meditation and yoga, and I believe in social tolerance, repudiate social injustices.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm just learning about this. As I get more information, I'll get more involved.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

As a representative of a film association years ago, I traveled to various conventions and events promoting independent filmmakers in the US and Canada. I also, hosted film makers (in my, then, New York apartment) who were traveling in the US from other countries. While I have traveled to Europe, Africa and a little in South America, these were planned trips with clear destinations. These were Pre-CS Experiences.

Interests

My interests are varied, music from electronica to the classics; theatre, photography, sculpture, all visual arts, film, etc., and social issues.

Music, Movies, and Books

Blyth Spirit, Terry Gilliam's Brazil, Akira Kurosawa's All things Art!, Desperate Lives, Martin Scorsese, etc. Siddhartha is my favorite Book, also love anything by Milan Kundera, enjoyed Giaconda Belli's The Scroll of Seduction, and the list continues. Musica! I llove Beethoven's (EVERYTHING!) 7th Symph, Jazz & Dave Brubeck, Salsa anything Fania, Reggae's Bob Marley, Black Uhuru, R & B's ubiquitous, Electronica, Hip Hop's Emenem and some others.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I turned an extremely shy inner city kid into a spokesman during a taping for a national PBS TV Show by explaining that his was an opportunity to speak on behalf of those who didn't (and might never have) the privilege to be on the air. He did two more shows thereafter.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have multiple skills and have taught, Spanish language, video production, photography, poetry workshops, screenwriting structure; and I'm a great advocate of self healing by gaining 'stasis' through healthy eating. I'd like to learn to fully trust the process of following your (our) own bliss without reservation.
