About Me

Hello ! This is Po Han. I'm 24 years old. I come from Taiwan and now live in London ( 6 months so far). At the moment, I work as a long-term volunteer for an non-profit organization which provide social care to those who have learning disability, autism, and down syndrome.

I reckon myself as a good and sincere listener (as most friends tell me about that!), open-minded and passionate person, and I am really eager to make connection with people from different culture and background!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing for me, is one of the must-to-do thing in my life. I would sat it might be a wonderful way to make connection with people you might don't know deeply! Compare to living in the youth hotels or hostel, you'd listen to various stories from those providing couches during the journey.!

Interests

Usually, I'll spend my weekend on either hiking or camping as I really like the outdoors activities.

I also like to play "go" game (is called Wei-Chi in chinese) as I learn it for few years, which cultivate my patience a lot!

Music, Movies, and Books

Well... that's a hard question to everyone isn't it?
I enjoy listening movie soundtracks when studying; sometimes might need Deep house to get rid of shitty mood; EDM is the best for exercising. But in general, I listen Pop music quite often!

Movies : Untouchable (soundtrack is awesome so I put it first).
I did see Billy Elliot in both movie and musical context. I cried more in the first version while laughed more in latter one : P

'The Element: How Finding Your Passion Changes Everything 'is my favorite book so far. It helps and inspire me to think about how to explore, observe my talents and passion before putting them into practice of career field. It does help me a lot when I get bewildered in some stages of my life. I do also like Siddhartha, El Alquimista and L'Insoutenable Légèreté de l'être. (yep most of them are philosophy of mind novels : P)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I had went camping on three beaches of Penghu island, which is one of the most beautiful islands off Taiwan, in 3 consecutive days.

I attended half trail marathon in Dover. Cliffs, shingle beach, fields could be seen during the running which I spent almost 3.5hours to finished.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am good at teaching Chinese as I have over 2 years language exchange experience so far. Please do feel free to speak Chinese if you'd like to practice or learn from zero! I like cooking, I'm willing to prepare Taiwanese dishes for you if interested : )

What I Can Share with Hosts

As I spend most of my life in Asia, I am willing to share cultures that I see and experience of eastern society. They could even be the way we eat food ( I do like this part), or how parents educate children (I am willing to share my personal childhood as example), or how's the school life etc.

For me, CS is pretty similar to Language Exchange. It brings people together and we could see our own country through new eyes.

Countries I’ve Visited

China, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
