Hello, my name is Polina, but I go by Polly. I was born in Kyiv, Ukraine, but have lived most of my life abroad in London, Moscow, and WashingtonDC. Have been studying Finance and International Business at GMU in Northern Virginia for three years already, one more to go.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I really think that when you're traveling your experience would be much better if you communicate with the local people because they somewhat represent the city and are the soul of it. They can always tell you about cool non-tourist places or good places to go, and you can compare it to your city and so on. I think that through couch surfing you can meet the local people, make friends from all over the world, and the is the most exciting part of it. It also saves you some extra money on your future travels.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to pretty much everything, but I am really into EDM and DJ-club-style music, and also like pop music and live jazz. Some of the artists I like are (not in any specific order) Kygo, Imagine Dragons, LP, One Republic, Jessie J, Lana Del Rey, Kodaline, Kendrick Lamar, Stromae, etc.
I like comedies, dramas, and science fiction movies, but I watch pretty much everything as well.
I am a big fan of science fiction and all Ray Bradbury's books, especially "451 Fahrenheit".
